JANUARY STUDENT OF THE MONTH: Jessica Wright
Jessica Wright, daughter of John and Lynne Wright, has been named January student of the month at Henry-Senachwine High School. Jessica was selected from a group of students nominated by the faculty and staff. The selection committee consists of several high school teachers and the principal.
Currently a senior at HSHS, Jessica is Student Council President, cheerleading co-captain, FCCLA president, National Honor Society vice president, as well as a member of FBLA. Jessica is in the top ten of her class and was chosen to attend the American Legion Auxiliary Illini Girls State last summer.
Jessica has been a member of the cheerleading squad for four years and softball for three.
Outside of school, Jessica has been a community volunteer through FBLA, helping with bell ringing, the treats for troops initiative, and other volunteer opportunities.
Jessica’s future plans are to attend the University of Iowa and major in Speech Pathology and Audiology.
On Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at the school board meeting, Jessica will be presented with an engraved pen set from the Henry-Senachwine Education Association and a personalized plaque from the district designation him as the “Student of the Month.” In addition, she will receive a $25.00 gift certificate from Heartland Bank in Henry and a $10.00 savings bond from the Henry Dairy Queen.
The student body, faculty, and the community congratulate Jessica on receiving this honor and recognition for her accomplishments and contributions to HSHS!
